NASCAR MODIFIED TOUR AT WALL STADIUM ON SATURDAY (MAY 18)

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ The stars of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will invade Wall Stadium Speedway this Saturday, May 18 for the Jersey Shore 150 stock car race. On Saturday gates will open at 2:00 p.m., with practice at 2:15 p.m., qualifying at 5:45 p.m. and feature races starting at 7:00 p.m. In the event of bad Saturday weather, a special Sunday rain date has been set for this event. Tickets and pit passes are now available online only at wallspeedwayracing.com. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the track starting at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

All of the top NASCAR Modified racing stars are expected for this 150 lap event led by early 2019 tour race winners including two-time victor Doug Coby of Southington, Ct., as well as winners Ron Silk of Norwalk, Ct. and Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville, N.Y. Patrick Emerling of Orchard Park, N.Y., Eric Goodale of Riverhead, N.Y., Craig Lutz of Miller Place, N.Y., Chris Pasteryak of Lisbon, Ct. and Woody Pitkat of Bellingham, Mass., all of whom are currently in the top ten of tour points, are on the official entry list. Dave Sapienza of Riverhead, N.Y., who enjoyed a Wall Stadium Speedway win in the Turkey Derby last November, is also among the entries.

Local fans should also have plenty to cheer for in this race as Howell’s Jimmy Blewett and Jackson’s Blake Barney, both of whom are in the top ten in driver points, as well as Holmdel’s Andrew Krause and Matawan’s Anthony Sesely are expected to try to defend their local turf.

In addition to the 150 lap Tour Modified Main Event, the Center State Engineering Sportsman cars, the O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks and the Surfside Collision 4Cylinder Stocks will all see action in 25-lap feature races.
