This Friday night July 5th, the Big Diamond Speedway presents one of its most prestigious events with the running of the annual George/Georgie Stevenson Memorial race for the Insigner Performance modifieds as part of B & H Landscaping Night.

The first Georgie Stevenson Memorial event was contested at the speedway in 1980. Georgie Stevenson was a young and avid Big Diamond fan, who supported the track along with his family every week. Georgie battle cancer and sadly passed away at the age of twelve. Georgie worked hard to raise money for cancer research as he battled the dreaded disease himself and all at the same time loved the sport of auto racing, especially at his home track of Big Diamond.

Georgie’s father, George Stevenson passed away unexpectedly in 2015. George’s presence at Big Diamond has made a significant difference over the decades. George was a champion for terminally ill kids and tirelessly worked year-round to raise money and present it to the families as a help to defray the cost of treatment and expenses brought on by cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Along with the 50-lap, $5000 to win feature event for the Insigner Performance modified, the USS Achey Sportsman cars will be in action as well as the always exciting Savage 61 Road Runners and the Eash’s Towing & Recovery Modifieds.

The big night will start out with a Fan-Fest from 5:30pm to 7:00pm featuring cars on display along with free hamburgers and hot dogs while supplies last. We will have a live DJ playing all of your favorite music and cap off the fan-fest with a FIREWORK display later in the evening to celebrate the Fourth of July!

*You can also go to the Big Diamond Facebook to like and share this week’s event to win a family 4-pack of tickets to the speedway.

Gates will open on Friday at 5:30pm with warmups beginning at 7:15pm

General admission for Friday night will be $25.00. Students 13-16 are $15; Kids 11-12 are $10. Kids 10 and under are free along with active military with valid ID

The above listed events are subject to change. Please visit our website at www.bigdspeedway.net for up to the minute information regarding the speedway.
