Sicklerville, NJ (February 25, 2019) – As the 2019 Modified racing season is about to crank up in the northeast in March, Brett Ballard has set plans to chase a track title and enter several additional events. “This year will be the first time since the 2014 season that I will be racing a full-time schedule. Due to my business, All County Garage Doors, I was only able to race a few times last year and the car was very competitive in those limited appearances. I feel confident heading into the season as I have very good equipment,” said Ballard, who has his eyes set on competing in over thirty races this season.
Along with the Poker Series at Bridgeport Speedway, the Pennsville, NJ based driver will return to full-time competition in the Big Block Modified ranks. “Our main focus this season will be running for points at Bridgeport Speedway. With the schedule at Bridgeport this year having races on the 5/8 mile and 3/8 mile tracks, I will be using two different cars. One will be the 2018 Bicknell car that we used last season and it will have a big block engine in it for the big track. I have a second 2018 Bicknell car that has not been raced and it will have a small block engine for the events on the 3/8 mile track,” summarized Ballard.
Additionally, Ballard is planning to compete on the southern portion of the Short Track Super Series. This eight race series which visits tracks in Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey will make stops at several tracks where Ballard has wanted to race. “I have always wanted to race at BAPS Motor Speedway and I am looking forward to the Short Track Super Series race there on Sunday, July 14. I have heard many good comments about Port Royal Speedway and I do want to race there on Sunday, March 24,” said Ballard. Along with the two Short Track Super Series South region events at Georgetown Speedway, Ballard will make additional appearances at the 1/2 mile track in southern Delaware including the Deron Rust Memorial on Friday, May 17 and the Blast at the Beach 6 on Tuesday, August 27.
