Indianapollis Ind… Moving from two dates in 2015, 2016 is looking packed for racers and race fans with at least five events scheduled for the season.

The 3rd Annual Dirt Classic Presented by Schmuck Lumber Company will be held at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, September 24, 2016 with a rain date of Saturday, October 8th. The date is highly favorable for both local teams and traveling operations to coordinate additional races at other area tracks.

Adding to the marquee event are four races with payouts ranging from $5,000 and up.

The Dirt Classic will kick off its event series in May on Friday, May 6 deep in the Midwest. The Dirt Classic is excited to be partnering with the Durst family to combine the Dirt Classic’s brand of innovative purse structure and format with the prestige of the NSL Series to I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska. Fans and racers will be given the unique opportunity to weigh in on the first Dirt Classic I-80 event structure over the course of the off-season.

June’s Dirt Classic event features another innovation on last year’s Dirt Classic Qualifier with the new Dirt Classic Showcase race. Held at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, June 11, the event will feature a unique challenge: start from last and get paid to pass. Once the feature lineup has been determined for this $5,000-to-win race, the pole starter will be offered the option to start from last and receive a passing bonus for each position they advance.

In all, if the challenger is able to advance to the winning position, they will bank $15,000 in total! The offer will be made sequentially through the field until a team accepts.

July will feature the first Dirt Classic Indiana, the only winged sprint car event to be held at Kokomo Speedway in 2016. On Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23, the Dirt Classic will partner with the All Star Circuit of Champions to present two full events. Friday will see $5,000-to-win prelude show, while Saturday’s Dirt Classic Indiana will feature a to-be-determined winner’s pay.

“We’re very excited to announce some of our upcoming dates for 2016 and the growth we’re looking to achieve,” promoter Jarrod Adams said. “Between the race tracks, sanctioning bodies and marketing partners, we have a fantastic group of partners that are determined to make these events successful.

We are not the only people who have the goal of investing in sprint car racing, and I think these partnerships, along with our desire to innovate and pivot within our events, really illustrate that.”

The expansion isn’t limited to dates, either. Adding to the already hefty payout, Pennsylvania’s own Dirt Classic will continue to boast an annual pay increase with the announcement of $1,000 starting pay for the A-Main event. The winner’s share will remain at a whopping $20,000 with pay increases throughout the field to be announced at a later date.

Fans and teams should expect additional announcements of growth over the next few months from the Dirt Classic team after the continued success and positive feedback from the 2015 Dirt Classic.
