CORR/PAK MERCHANDISING 360 SPRINT CARS (16 entries)
Glenn Styres reached a milestone with the 25th Ohsweken Speedway feature win of his career on Friday night. Styres used a slide job to take the lead from Mitch Brown on lap 16, and went on to win by 1.829 seconds.
The only caution flag of the race occurred on the first lap when a spin by Keith Dempster brought about a complete restart. Pole-sitter Jim Huppunen utilized the low groove to lead the first 4 laps until Brown got by in traffic. Styres took the runner-up spot away from Huppunen 3 laps later and began to put pressure on Brown. The leaders worked through traffic as 4th place Dain Naida began to close in. Brown stayed in the outside groove and staved off several slide job attempts before Styres prevailed and left Brown to fend off Huppunen.
Styres’ win was his third in a row at Ohsweken, while Brown, Huppunen, Naida, and Todd Hoddick took top five finishes. Jesse Costa was the hard charger after driving from 14th to finish 7th, just behind Jamie Turner. Hoddick’s championship points lead is now down to 12 over Brown, and 22 over Styres.

AFFORDABLE TOWING & RECOVERY THUNDER STOCKS (39 entries)
Ryan Dinning looked to have the Thunder Stock feature in hand on Friday until a caution flag bunched the field and brought a host of challengers to his rear bumper. A great race ensued with Dinning, Dave Silverthorn, Jr., Dave Bailey, and Bryce Richardson all in contention.
Bailey and Silverthorn eventually broke away enough to settle the race between themselves, with Bailey running the outside groove, and Silverthorn running closer to the bottom of the track. Bailey stayed close to Silverthorn, but couldn’t get by, and slipped back a few car lengths on the last lap. Silverthorn took the win by just 0.385 seconds, followed by Bailey, Dinning, Richardson, and 20th starter Wyatt Van Wart.
Bailey now holds a 12 point lead over Van Wart in the championship standings, and a 28 point advantage over third place driver Billy Bleich, Jr., who recovered from a spin to finish 13th.
