PetersSUPER DIRTcar BIG BLOCK MODIFIED SERIES (37 entries)
The first ever Big Block Modified feature race at Ohsweken started with Dale Planck and Keith Flach on the front row. Planck took the lead early in the 75 lap race, with Billy Decker giving chase, but the red flag came out with just 4 laps complete when Erick Rudolph flipped hard in turn one. Planck led all but 1 of the first 62 laps (Decker briefly got by), while eventual race winner Chad Brachmann had fallen as far back as 14th before mounting a charge to the front.

Brachmann was up to 9th on lap 18, and broke into the top 5 on lap 33. Following a lap 40 restart, Brachmann drove around both Decker and Danny Johnson and into the second spot, and began to work on Planck for the lead. Brachmann and Planck raced side-by-side several times until Decker spun to bring out a yellow flag with 15 laps remaining. Another yellow flag after the restart negated a Brachmann pass for the lead, but he got around Planck 3 laps later and set sail in search of his first Super DIRTcar Big Block Modified series feature win.

Brachmann survived a nervous last few laps when his power steering failed and smoke began to emanate from his machine, but he held on for the win by 1.783 seconds over Planck, 15th starter Matt Sheppard, Danny Johnson, and Mat Williamson.

GO NUCLEAR! LATE MODEL SERIES (27 entries)
The first ever Go Nuclear! Late Model series feature at Ohsweken began with Sean Beardsley and Sam Pennacchio leading the field to the green flag. Beardsley led early before yielding to John Waters on lap 6, who in turn saw 13th starter Darren Peters arrive on the scene. Traffic was almost the undoing of both Peters and Waters, as the two drivers made contact with slower cars and narrowly avoided crashing at the front of the field.

Peters made the eventual feature-winning move on lap 18, but defending series champ Charlie Sandercock made things interesting with a spectacular 3-wide move to take over the runner-up spot late in the race. Sandercock was gaining on Peters over the last few laps, but ran out of time as Peters took the win by a margin of 0.599 seconds. Sandercock settled for second, followed by Pennacchio, Bearsley, and Lee Gill.

CORR/PAK MERCHANDISING 360 SPRINT CARS (27 entries)
Championship contender Mitch Brown and rookie Dylan Westbrook were on the front row for the 360 Sprint Car feature. Westbrook took the lead and stayed put in the face of several Glenn Styres slide job attempts before eventually giving up the lead on lap 14. Brown, meanwhile, fell back as far as 6th before starting to move forward again. Stewart Friesen gained 3 spots in the first 5 laps before a mechanical problem forced him to the sidelines.

Westbrook fought back after Styres got by, but lost ground as the race wound to a conclusion while Todd Hoddick worked on taking the second spot. Westbrook’s hopes for a major upset win were dashed when he got over the cushion and suffered a front suspension problem on the last lap. Brown was caught up in the incident, and wound up finishing 15th. Styres stayed ahead of Hoddick to take the win, followed by Steve Collins, Keith Dempster, and 19th starter Jim Huppunen.
